Highlights
Major changes to Ashfield area buses starting 23rd June 2002.
A brand new fleet of easy access; buggy-friendly buses; eight buses an hour from Allestree; twice as many Sunday buses; plus a new midnight bus to Allestree.
Details
Trent Buses have invested over half a million pounds on new buses for routes in and around Allestree and Darley Abbey in Derby. The new buses provide a comfier ride and are buggy and wheelchair friendly.

The current R34, R51, R52 and R54 services are now replaced by two new services:

The Allestree
The Allestree takes the same route as the R51 and R52, but runs more frequently - every seven or eight minutes. This means eight buses an hour instead of the previous four. In the evenings the Allestree operates half hourly until 11.30pm, with an extra bus at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. The Sunday service is also doubled to operate half hourly.

The Darley
The Darley replaces most of the current R34 route and part of the current R54. This daytime service runs every hour via. Kedleston Road and Broadway to Darley Abbey Village then via. Lambourn Drive and Ford Lane in Allestree. Instead of continuing to Duffield it continues along Park Lane, West Bank Road and Woodlands Road to Park Farm.
This proposal re-instates the link between Darley Abbey and Park Farm Shopping Centre. However, fewer buses now serve Woodlands Top, and New Zealand Lane in Duffield is no longer served. Ecclesbourne School buses are not affected.

notts + derby 17
New service 17, operated by notts + derby, provides journeys between Derby and the Wirksworth Road area of Duffield on Mondays to Fridays.
